Ski Launch 2023 - Date confirmed

We're looking ahead to 23/24 with the confirmation that Ski Launch 2023 will take place on Tuesday 12th September in central London. As before, the event is open to all ski tour operators, suppliers and tourist offices.  We start with a morning seminar looking at all manner of ski issues and this then leads into a three course lunch, with everyone changing tables after each course to maximise the networking. If you're involved in the ski industry come and join a wide cross section of tour operators, ski press and suppliers (plus a few ski celebs). It's a really relaxed day and you won't even notice that you are working! Undoubtedly one of the best ways to promote your products to a very targeted audience. Drop an e-mail to paddy@paddypr.co.uk for more info (and further details to follow here).

Ski Launch 2021 - headline sponsor announced

2021's event partner is to be the southern French Alps! We're really looking forward to telling you lots more about what they have on offer for 2021/22 in September.  Full announcement to follow.

SKI LAUNCH 2021 IS GO!

With the continued easing of restrictions in the UK, we have settled on Tuesday 14th September to run Ski Launch 2021. The venue will be the Copthorne Tara, Kensington.  More details on prices and content will be released when finalised!

Ski Launch 2020 - Cancelled

We are sad to confirm that we are not able to run Ski Launch 2020 due to the Covid 19 situation.  Fingers crossed for 2021.  Stay safe.

UPDATE 06/08/2020

Just a quick update on the current situation for Ski Launch. Due to the ongoing situation we have been advised by the Copthorne Tara that it will not be possible to run on the 15th September as originally planned. This is Government led, rather than from the venue themselves.

However, we are still very keen to keep the face to face networking element of the event alive if at all possible, rather than going virtual, so have now rescheduled the date to Tuesday 20th October. If it looks like larger gatherings/conferences are allowed in October we will proceed with the event in a modified form (less people, more space, NBC suits etc…). Rest assured that we will be following (and probably exceeding) government guidance, for all our sakes.

Details and costs, once finalised,  will be sent out as soon as possible and if the event does not go ahead there will be a full refund of any money you have paid.  It is far from certain that Ski Launch will happen at all this year but we have to put plans in place just in case

urther details and provisional reservations can be made via e-mail - paddy@paddypr.co.uk"

ENDS

Although times are very unsettled at present, we have formalised a date for Ski Launch 2020 and this is Tuesday 15th September.  As usual, this dovetails with the events planned by Where to Ski and Snowboard and France Montagnes.

Obviously, things can change, but at present it is hoped that prices, timings etc... will be broadly similar to last year (as outlined below).

Further details and provisional reservations can be made via e-mail - paddy@paddypr.co.uk

17/11/17

The 17/18 season has barely started but the key partner for the press lunch at Ski Launch 2018 has already been confirmed as the Bern region of Switzerland. Thank you and we look forward to working with you.

The 2018 event will be one week later than previous years to avoid the clash with children returning to school. This is a decision we have made in conjunction with Inghams, Where to Ski & Snowboard and France Montagnes so all these events will tie in as usual.

There will also be some important changes to the way the press lunch runs to ensure it is enjoyable and useful for all concerned.

Ski Launch 2015

On the 8th September 2015 the ski industry gathered in London (at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington) to collectively launch the 2015/16 ski season to the UK's ski press.

Organised by Paddy PR, Ski Launch 2015 started with breakfast, sponsored by ski specialist insurance providers MPI Brokers. This then led into the morning's 'industry only' session, moderated by James Cove of PlanetSki, where Frank McCusker of The Ski Club of Great Britain talked about customer loyalty and the new .ski high level domain was officially launched.

Following coffee (sponsored by .ski) Lucy Huxley of Travel Weekly outlined her thoughts on working with travel agents and the need for a unified ski industry body that could help grow the market in a similar way to the cruise industry. The following panel debate expanded on this and it quickly became clear that the debate was going to run into, and beyond, lunch.

As delegates were busily registering their .ski domains we were joined by the great and good from the UK ski press for an aperitif. This led into a specially prepared three-course lunch, sponsored by Pierre et Vacances. Ski industry delegates changed tables after each course so that they could speak to as many of the attending journalists as possible.

As the lunch started to wind down over coffee, the debate over an industry body, the .ski domains, working with travel agents and more seemed to pick up and was still going at 5pm.

As an event organiser it was very gratifying to see that there were still several ski operators and journalists talking, networking and generally enjoying life long after the event should have concluded.

Watch this space for details of Ski Launch 2016 next September. It will be bigger and better!
